Oz : Makalede ilkogretim ogrencilerinin arasinda Maras otu kullanicilarinin yuzdelik gostergelerinin yuksek olduguna deginilmektedir. Maras otunun agiz ici mukoza tabakasina zararlari belirtilir. Arastirma sonuclariyla Maras otunun etkisiyle agiz mukoza tabakasinda diseti kizarikliginin ve sisliklerin sik goruldugu ortaya konmaktadir. Maras otu kullanmayan ilkogretim yasindaki cocuklarda agiz ici mukoza tabakasinin normal durumda oldugu tespit edilmistir. Maras otu kullananlarda agiz mukoza tabakasinda hiperemi ve sisme belirtilerinin siklastigi tespit edilmistir. Maras otunun agiz ici mukoza tabakasina zararli etkileri ortaya konmustur. Abstract: In this article it is studied that the percentage of primary school students using Nicotiana rustica/Nicotiana tabacum (Maras Otu) is considerably high. Our article focuses on the harmful effects of it in the mouth mucosa layer. Researches point out that there is a close relationship between the consumption of Maras Otu with the gingivitis and swelling in the mouth. It is found that the students who do not use it have a normal oral mucosa. It is also concluded that those who use it have a higher probability of having symptoms of swellings and hyperemia. This study puts forward the harmful effects of Maras Otu for the oral mucosa. Keywords: maras otu, nicotiana tabacum, mouth mucosa
