Cement is a heterogeneous fine grained material consists mainly of four solid phases of tricalcium silicate (C3S; 3CaO.SiO2), dicalcium silicate (C2S; 2CaO.SiO2), tricalcium aluminate (C3A; 3CaO.Al2O3) and tetracalcium alumino ferrite (C4AF; 4CaO. Al2O3. Fe2O3) [1] and these chemical components contain various infrared active functional groups. More than 3.4 billion tonnes of cement were produced annually worldwide in the year of 2013 and it was estimated a four-fold increase in the annual production of the cement to the year 2050 [2]. There is no indication that the cement production will be decreased.
