espanolCarmen Bravo-Villasante (1918-1994) fue una gran ensayista, biografa, articulista, critica literaria, traductora y pionera en el estudio de la literatura infantil y juvenil (LIJ). Se trata de una investigadora que ha dejado un legado imperecedero sobre la educacion literaria y sobre la relevancia de la literatura infantojuvenil en nuestra sociedad, ademas de una mujer que entendio el genero desde una optica muy personal. El XXIX Congreso Internacional de la Asociacion de Estudios de Genero y Sexualidades (AEGS) “CreadorAS en la Educacion Literaria e Intercultural”, celebrado en Valencia en julio de 2019, le rindio homenaje en el 25 aniversario de su fallecimiento y tambien como festejo de su reciente centenario, por ser una creadora en sentidos amplios de la palabra y para reivindicar el protagonismo de su figura en el debate sobre la literatura infantojuvenil espanola y latinoamericana. EnglishCarmen Bravo-Villasante (1918-1994) was a great essayist, biographer, columnist, literary critic, translator and pioneer in the study of children’s and young adult literature. She has left an imperishable legacy to literary education and to children’s and youth literature in our society, as well as being a woman who understood gender from a very personal perspective. The 29th International Conference of the Association of Gender and Sexuality Studies (AGSS), with the theme “FEmale Creations in Literary and Intercultural Education” and held in Valencia in July 2019, paid tribute to Bravo-Villasante on the 25th anniversary of her death and her recent centenary celebration, as a creator in the broadest sense of the word, and vindicated her leading role as a writer in the debate on Spanish and Latin American children’s literature.
