In the u-14 handball category, the use of open zonal defenses, especially the 3:3 defensive system, hasbeen defended in the specialized literature. However, it becomes necessary to understand how 3: 3defensive system can behave against the transformations of the opposing offensive system. Based on abibliographical review and articulations with studies, research and applied knowledge, this studypresents possibilities for the use of individual and group tactical means of defensive successconsidering the levels of understanding of the game of the young athletes. Thus, we present proposalsthat support the need to learn tactical means in view of the success of the 3:3 defensive system againstthe offensive system transformations.
