Clanek je pravidelným každorocnim zhodnocenim jakosti sladovnickeho jecmene posledni sklizně. Mapuje veskere nejvýznamnějsi faktory (klimaticke podminky, výskyt chorob a skůdců, odrůdovou skladbu jecmene, výnosy). Obsahuje jak fyzikalně-chemicke vyhodnoceni jecmene, tak i výrazne parametry sladu, vyrobeneho v laboratornich podminkach Sladařskeho ustavu v Brně. Z vyhodnoceni vsech sledovaných parametrů i porovnani s minulými rocniky dospěli autoři k zavěru, že jecmeny sklizně 2008 davaji předpoklad velmi dobreho sladovaciho rocniku.
