Geoprocessing techniques (GIS) can be extensively employed in a wide range of economic and governmental activities, providing subsidies for adequate planning and management. In this paper, the techniques of geographic inference called Analytic Hierarchic Process which aims to obtain an arithmetic function based on the favorability premises for the seaweeds cultivation. For this, we analyzed the following variables: marine sediments, bathymetry and marine currents. This function allowed to combine the conditions for the development of mariculture, highlighting the most favorable areas for seaweeds cultivation. The resulting products were converted into layers of information. Current velocities, depth and sediment type were employed here as decision criteria, with higher suitability proxies for areas with depths between 1.5 and 3 meters, current velocities ranging between 0.2 and 0.3 m/s, and fine sediments. Results emphasize the improvement in the quality of analysis derived from the integration of diverse information and also the importance of GIS for supporting environmental sustainable.
