The seizure of power in Italy by the National Fascist Party aroused understandable interest in Central European countries.1 The phenomenon of the emergence of a completely new state in terms of its system had to draw people’s attention, while the “fascist model (...) was spreading throughout Europe due to the sole fact of its existence in the Apennine Peninsula.”2 The efficiency of fascism was certainly inspirational for Polish politicians. The structure of Camp of Great Poland (OWP), established in December 1926, gathering anti-Sanation right wingers, resembled the Italian model (the organisation was governed by the Great Council, modelled after the Gran Consiglio Fascista operating in Italy3). Similarly, the may coup d’etat compellingly brought to mind the March on Rome from four years earlier, though unlike the latter it resulted in several hundred fatalities. However, the interest in Italian fascism was not only shared by politicians and army officials. In the 1920s and 1930s, there appeared many texts positively evaluating the ideology and the political system of mussolini (or, at least, some of its elements4).
