The process of urbanization of Brazilian cities is traditionally marketed by the lack of planning and the implementation of the instruments of territorial planning provided by law. The result of this reality is a series of environmental problems, such as air pollution and soil degradation, that have a direct influence on the quality of life of the populations living in the middle and large urban nuclei. The city of Paragominas, located in the State of Pará, in the North region, is an example of this process, since ENCICLOPÉDIA BIOSFERA, Centro Científico Conhecer Goiânia, v.15 n.27; p. 2018 54 the economic investments and social advances achieved in the last years by the municipality, with strong participation of the mineral sector and the livestock sector, resulted in a significant urban growth in front of other cities of the interior of the State. The objective of this study was to analyze indicators associated with environmental comfort in two different moments of the day, one during the period of lower urban activity (lower vehicular and pedestrian flow) and the other covering the peak time (greater vehicular flow and pedestrians) in a neighborhood with demographic aspects that show the urban growth suffered by the city, the neighborhood of Uraim I. For this, measurements were made of parameters temperature, carbon dioxide, relative humidity and mapping of the vegetation cover of the neighborhood. The results allow to conclude that the distribution of vegetation and the variation of vehicular and pedestrian traffic exerts a notable influence on the neighborhood's environmental comfort, drawing attention to the need to apply measures such as afforestation of the neighborhood's public roads.
