This work proposes a double-conversion UPS topology for the integration with photovoltaic panels that allows the maximum power point tracking without the addition of the usual DC-DC converter for interface between panels and DC-link. The panel arrangement is connected directly to the DC-link, and the MPPT is performed by the input circuit. Through this system it is possible to feed loads with a regulated output voltage regardless of mains voltage disturbances while generating PV energy. In case of power excess, current can be injected into the mains since the input circuit has a bidirectional characteristic. The system performance is validated through Hardware-in-the-Loop results, which demonstrate the functionality of the proposed topology.
