This article analyzes in detail the history of the formation of the concepts "space" and "time" of the German philosopher Immanuel Kant. Aspects of these concepts are investigated on the basis of his fundamental treatise on the philosophy of “Criticism of pure reason”. The analysis of the main periods of formation and the main features of I. Kant's “subcritical” and “critical” philosophy is carried out, since his ideas influenced not only German philosophy, but also the development of the entire world philosophy in particular. This topic is relevant for such sections of philosophy as ontology, gnoseology and history of philosophy. By substantiating and comparing the various philosophical ideas of I. Kant, the fundamental arguments on their influence on the formation of modern German classical philosophy are given. Particular attention is paid to the analysis and analysis of philosophical concepts as: "a priori synthetic judgments", "phenomenon", "space" and "time". Emphasis is placed on the importance of clarifying the essence and prerequisites of the “Copernican coup” in I. Kant's metaphysics. Considering some of the differences between I. Kant and the methodology for studying these concepts with his predecessors, the contribution made by the representative of German classical philosophy, which has changed the approach to philosophizing, is emphasized.
