In the article presents studies of the design of working equipment reverse shovel for excavators of domestic production, their features and the possibility of modernization in order to increase the efficiency of use not only in conditions the development of soils below the level of parking, but also during loading and unloading work, when moving large-piece cargo and dismantling the rubble. One way to upgrade is to install an additional grip on the handle of the excavator. The characteristics of the machines requiring verification during the modernization of the working equipment elements are considered.
