The subject of this work is the formation of a philosophical and scientific anthropological paradigm in Soviet philosophy in the 1920s. Justifying the idea of man as a natural being Soviet philosophers relied on the economic-deterministic interpretation of Marxism, given by theorists of the Second International, and vulgar materialism of the 19 century. The Marxist concept of man was present in their works in an exaggerated form. The article reconstructs and explores the basic principles of the paradigm: the project of the «new man», the correlation of social and biological, freedom and necessity, personality and society, the problem of meaning and purpose of life. It is concluded that the development of Soviet philosophical and anthropological thought during this period was of «growth disease» nature. © CC BY Устинов О. А., 2019.
