The study of Plane Geometry in Elementary Education has been depreciated by the students who are drawn to information technology and lose concentration in class. The use of puzzles made of matches tries to recover their attention, using the playful side of games for classrooms and, at the same time, working the logical reasoning during the activities. As they are easy to be built and manipulated, puzzles are very useful in teaching Plane Geometry. That is the reason why the project PUZZLE WITH MATCHES: A PLAYFUL WAY TO TEACH PLANE GEOMETRY IN HIGH SCHOOLS has been developed by/for 6th grade students from a school named Escola Estadual Ensino Fundamental Jovelina Gomes, in Uiraúna/PB. The activities were developed in workshops, using the notions and properties of Geometry as the rules of the “game”. During the workshops the activites had been developed in groups of four students, in order to promote interaction by developing the hability of working in team.
