The article sets a goal to show the specificity of the approach to the interpretation of the Aristotelian concept of natural slavery. This approach is based on the detection of political and economic preconditions, on the cultural and historical context. It puts the inner logic of the philosophical concept on the back burner. The article analyzes the key provisions and difficulties of this approach (disordered criticism of arguments and statements, ignoring the ethical component of the concept of slavery, the construction of aporia, leading to reproaches against Aristotle in his political bias and the creation of ideology). It is concluded this approach is not effective for the consistent reconstruction of Aristotle's ideas.
