The Octobrists were simultaneously conservative with the resulting Russian nationalism and right-wing liberalism. When creating their program, the Octobrists theorized over the concept of &amp;quot;nation&amp;quot;, but the politicians faced a problematic issue: the Octobrists need to distinguish themselves from the conservative parties and maintain their ideological &amp;quot;centrism&amp;quot;.
