In this article, the author considers the topic of the functioning of political and legal institutions in the context of digitalization. The essential features of globalization are established and its influence on the sphere of politics is noted. The contribution of globalization to the formation of international institutions is noted. The transformation of the essence of the state as a superinstitution, which preserves modernist features in the synthesis with various manifestations of globalization, is shown. A working thesis on the laws of institutional dynamics is formulated. It is concluded that it is necessary to specify and supplement the functions of institutions in the context of emerging relations.
