Agent-based modeling allows to solve a large number of problems in all fields of science. At the same time, socio-economical processes and phenomena are being researched with the help of building an artificial society, a system consisting of a multitude of artificial agents with many functions and specific tasks. This concept was investigated at different times by such scientists as Conway, Epstein, Makarov. The use of agent-based models within this concept allows us to predict the behavior of individual agents embedded in the system and explain emergent properties of such system. In order to be called an artificial society, the model must match the criteria defined by Epstein: the autonomy of agents, their heterogeneity, limited rationality, multi-interactions of agents with each other. Nowadays, agent-based modeling by the type of artificial society makes it possible to solve such problems as the regulation of traffic flow, development of the territory, organization of logistics, maintenance, etc. This article explores the possibility of building a model of oil sector in Russia in the context of a tax maneuver. This tax reform gives rise to a lot of contradictions that directly affect the behavior of economic agents operating there and, possibly, the structure of the oil industry as a whole.

The concept of an artificial society in the study of the oil industry structure in Russia
