La interaccion es un concepto que puede caracterizar la Antiguedad tardia (siglos II-VIII). Un ejemplo elocuente es el acercamiento entre los barbaros godos y la civilizada aristocracia romana fijada en los territorios del Imperio romano de Occidente desde comienzos del siglo V. Enmarcada por la confrontacion, seguida de la amistad y alianza, la relacion entre godos y romanos acabo por favorecer a los primeros en terminos institucionales con la creacion del regnum liderado por aquellos y la desaparicion de la autoridad imperial occidental en las provincias romanas. Si el regnum gothorum Tolosanum tuvo una corta duracion, su congenere hispano, el regnum gothorum Toletanum, empezo su existencia gracias a la confrontacion y consecuente acercamiento entre los grupos aristocraticos godos e hispanorromanos que tuvieron en los reinados de Theudis (531- 548 †) y Leovigildo (569-586 †) los momentos mas destacables del proceso de conformacion y fortalecimiento de la monarquia hispanogoda de Toledo en el siglo VI. ABSTRACT Interaction is a characteristic concept of Late Antiquity (II-VIII centuries). A prime example is the rapprochement between the Gothic barbarians and the civilized Roman aristocracy established in the territories of the Western Roman Empire since the beginning of the fifth century. Framed by conflict, followed by friendship and alliance, the relationship between Goths and Romans eventually favoured the former in institutional terms, with the creation of the regnum led by the latter, and the demise of Western imperial authority in the Roman provinces. If the regnum  gothorum Tolosanum was short-lived, its Hispanic equivalent, the regnum gothorum Toletanum, began its existencethanks to the confrontation and subsequent rapprochement between Goths and Hispano-Roman aristocratic groups that enjoyed on the reigns of Theudis (531-548 †) and Leovigildo (569-586 †) the most notable moments of the process of conformation and strengthening of the Hispano-Visigothic monarchy of Toledo in the sixth century.
