Los artefactos son productos materiales a partir de los cuales podemos obtener una gran cantidad de informacion social, tecnologica y cultural. Por este motivo, los artefactos son una importante fuente de estudio, en ocasiones exclusiva, en algunas disciplinas como la arqueologia, la antropologia y los estudios prehistoricos. Estos objetos o artefactos son manifestaciones culturales de sociedades pasadas, por lo que a traves de su estudio es posible conocer importantes detalles de la cultura que los fabrico y de sus productores. En este trabajo proponemos una sintesis reflexiva sobre varios conceptos diferentes, pero intimamente relacionados: artefacto, cultura material, tecnologia y estilo, elementos todos ellos objetivo de los estudios arqueologicos. ABTSRACT Artefacts are material products that can provide us with a considerable amount of social, technological and cultural information. For this reason, artefacts are a very important –and sometimes unique– source for study (sometimes exclusive) in some disciplines such as archaeology, anthropology and prehistoric studies. These objects or artefacts are tangible cultural manifestations of past societies, so their study reveals important details regarding the culture and the people that made them. This work proposes a reflective synthesis of several different but closely related concepts such as artefact, object, technology and style, all these elements being objectives of archaeological studies.
