Cross sectional anatomy had enjoyed wide popularity during 19th century, but its application declinedduring 20th century. With the advent of radiologic techniques like computed tomography, magneticresonance imaging, cross sectional anatomy regains its importance. However, there were differences inthe ways anatomists and radiologists approach cross sectional anatomy.
