The social environment is one of the important factors that affect people's moral attitudes and behavior. With the development of technology, people's social environment has also diversified. Social media apps have had an important place in people's social circles. People interact with different people through social media and can be influenced by their content. On YouTube, a social media app, each user can publish their video contents. These video contents also have the potential to influence people. The purpose of this study is to examine the YouTube contents for children and young people in the context of moral values. Content analysis approach, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Enes Batur, Orkun Isitmak and Kafalar are the individual channels with the highest number of subscribers on YouTube’s Turkish version. Two videos were chosen from each of these channels that were uploaded between September 2019 and January 2020. These themes of videos are entertainment, games, adventure, and promotion. Video contents are not based on a professional scenario. It has basic features such as mediocrity, naturalness, interaction, and engaging with the viewer. In particular, swearing and slang are frequently used in the contents created by Enes Batur and Kafalar. The perception that life is based on gaming, entertainment, and easy-to-monetize is noticeable in some videos. It can be expressed that swearing, using slang, and uncivilized behaviors in some videos have morally negative effects. Therefore various recommendations have been made to families, educators, and related institutions to protect young people and children from these negative impacts.
