This article presents a conceptual model for the analysis of competitiveness in fashion, with focus on micro and small manufacturing companies. From the approach viewpoint, this is a qualitative and quantitative research, and from the viewpoint of its objectives, it is a descriptive exploratory research. By identifying the internal factors of competitiveness and of the elements of fashion that interfere in the advanced phases of the production chain, this work intended to evaluate the relations between the business practice and the knowledge disseminated by the academy, as well as to highlight the relevant items for the proposition of a conceptual paradigm of competitive analysis.
