The article is devoted to the research of the new concept "convergent editorial office", the specifics of its functioning, structural changes and the reflection of the media convergence phenomena on the entities of a particular social system. A convergent editorial office is considered to be a structure of both a productive and creative nature that makes media product for different mass media, which are united by a single media structure (print media, television, the radio, and the Internet). Convergence transforms the circulation of information flows and exerts an irrevocable influence on the reconstruction of the organisational structure of a medium, creating a new business model, upgrading the processes of acquisition, creation, and distribution of the information product. As a result, the medium audience ceases to be a passive consumer of content, it becomes the centre of a constantly updated information space, and can create content itself. Under the influence of convergence, markets merging takes place and the previous ideas about the channels of communication and information are radically changing. Further development of media convergence will lead to the deepening of these processes, which will manifest itself in the structural features of convergent editorial offices and will depend on the specifics of the social control over the processes of their formation and functioning.
