With the inclusion of popular culture tools in religious life, there is a change in the processes of religious perception and interpretation. The messages conveyed through the mass media in religious matters convey the relationship between religion and media, the representation of religion in the media and the popularization of the principles and principles of religion. This process, which gained momentum with the increase in the number of private television channels, has gained more importance with the inclusion of social media in our daily life and has led to the emergence of a phenomenon called social media religiousness. Media; It plays an important role in bringing the messages of religious institutions or communities to large audiences, and in addition to traditional socialization tools such as family and mosques, it is seen as ı modern religious socialization hedef tools. As well as carrying out activities that promote religious culture to the masses through the media, religious attitudes and behaviors are adopted through the characters presented as role models. The media organizations may cause the public to obtain false information from time to time with religious programs. While the information given without relying on sound and reliable sources leads the masses to the wrong, it is known that negative and false convictions about religion occur in case of deviation from the aim of the persons, institutions and symbols. With the influence of popular culture, a transformation has started to be seen in the way we perceive our religious perception in time, and media organizations have begun to give more room to the members of the religion in the media production in terms of the fact that they are approaching the issue of religion in a utilitarian way as in many areas. In our study, the relation between religion and media in the context of popular culture, popularization of religion and its relevance to social media will be discussed within the theoretical framework.
