The focus of this study is analyzing the levels of anxiety and introvertedness of university students due to their body perception and elucidating the subject with scientific data. 400 students from the following departments/faculties of the Sakarya University participated in the study during the 2016-2017 academic year: Social Work and Turkish Philology affiliated to Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Law Department affiliated to Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Art Design and Architecture. According to the data obtained from the research, it was found that introvertedness / loneliness significantly correlated with body perception (r = 0.457; p <0.01). It was determined that the negative body perception led to introvertedness among university students and there was a significant correlation between these two concepts. Compared to the students who are not satisfied with their physical appearance, the students satisfied with their appearance have been found to be able to communicate with their environment in a more harmonious way; in parallel, they were observed to be in active interaction in their lives. It was understood that the negative body perception of individuals was not only rooted in individuals themselves, but the environment was also found to be a determinant in this situation.
