George Gerbner is a philosopher who contributed a great deal to the science of communication with his studies on mass media and many concepts he introduced to the literature as well as his work called "Cultural Indicators" focusing on the topic of violence on television and its impacts. Despite being such an important philosopher, many of his works have not been translated into Turkish. Therefore, the details forming the topic of this study will be gathered especially from his original works through a literature survey. The study will be limited to 'storytelling process' which is of vital importance within the social structure as well as the position of Cultural Indicators and the theory of cultivation within the science of communication, and the criticisms directed at the theory. The aim of this study is to better understand George Gerbner, comprehend his work based on violence on television, and present the findings of this study.
