Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı is a poet and writer living at the republic era and between 1970 – 1957. Although he has written many short stories, he is recognized about his poems more than the others. As well as the social situations, his life he personally experienced had a great influence on him. Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı starting to write during his high school put great importance to form and beauty. He defended that the form is the most significant in a poem, thence he wrote his poems in a clear and plain style. Tarancı who reflects the love of life and pessimism in his poems, uses the themes of “loneliness and death” heavily in his poems.
