İBRET GAZETESİ NDE ÇIKAN YAZILARINDA NAMIK KEMAL İN OSMANLI BİRLİĞİNE DUYDUĞU İNANCININ SEBEPLERİ

Namık Kemal is one of the most distinguished figures of Tanzimat Period. He witnessed the collapse of the Empire. He tried to find solutions for this collapse. He aimed at westernization while maintaining the Islamism. He considered western political institutions as the most suitable model for the Ottoman Empire. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the reasons of Namık Kemal’s belief for the unity of the Ottoman Empire by giving reference to the newspaper called “İbret”. In the study, firstly the wars in which Ottoman Empire took place were examined and their results were shown. Secondly Namık Kemal’s life as a journalist was discussed. Lastly Namık Kemal’s reasons for the unity of the Ottoman Empire were designated by giving examples from his articles written in “İbret”.
