The aim of this study is to identify the perceptions of elementary education students about occupations. The participants of the study were 180 fourth grade students during the school year of 2015-2016 in Afyonkarahisar province. The participants were asked to write a story about an occupation they were interested in. The stories written by the participants were examined through document analysis. It was found that the participants had certain perceptions about occupations in terms of academic contribution, cognitive contribution, social contribution, occupational terms and advantages.
