The Ottoman Empire subsisted as a strong state in three continents. However developments in Europe and economical, political, social and cultural changes experienced in Europe made the Ottoman Empire to question itself for the first time in its history. At the end of 18th century the Ottoman Empire felt the need of reform the state against strong European countries. The process initiated in this direction continued until the first quarter of 20th century. At the end of 19th century another development was added to the all developments experienced in Europe: Studies which have been carried out in the name of the art of photography for a long time reached their apogee by the invention of cinematograph machine that projects photographs in motion in 1895. Studies regarding this new art form which its invention coincided with Empire's collapse period started to be conducted in the Ottoman Empire. On one hand this study examines the Ottoman Empire's collapse period and on the other hand this study aims to examine the existence of invention of the cinema which coincides with the end of this process in this land correspondingly.
