Power generation through biogas is a way to produce clean electric power, seeking to reduce the global impacts generated by the burning of municipal solid waste. In this work energy conversion technologies were studied with the analysis of the best alternative to energy conversion of biogas in landfills and agriculture in Brazil. Comparative studies are presented and the results showed that the generators using internal combustion engines (Otto or Diesel cycles) are more viable in both the technical bias and economic energy for conversion of landfill gas in Brazil through the Thermoelectric Biogas Units.
