Major plant biome changes in Primorye (Far East of Russia) during the Paleogene are studied using the Integrated Plant Record vegetation analysis for the first time, based on palaeobotanical records. Palaeobotanical data employed for the reconstruction comprises 54 palaeofloras covering the early Paleocene to late Oligocene, a time-span of ca. 42 myr. Our data indicate the presence of more forested conditions in Primorye during the Paleogene than at present and demonstrate the major plant biome changes from the subtropical MMF/BLEF ecotone in the late Paleocene to the warm-temperate BLDF/MMF ecotone in the late Oligocene.
