A novel, simple, rapid and inexpensive wet chemical method has been developed to synthesis selenium nanoparticles by reduction of selenium (IV) using titanium(III)chloride as a reducing agent in acid medium at room temperature. The method is capable of producing selenium nano particles in a size ranging from 40-90 nm under ambient conditions. The synthesized nano particles have been characterized by UV-Visible Spectrophotometry, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDS), Dynamic Light Scattering Particle Size Analyzer (DLS), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) techniques. Crystalline selenium nanoparticles were obtained without post annealing
