Patients who have undergone mandibular resection ar e generally co-operative and philosophical in respe ct to their conditions. The prosthodontic prognosis is dependen t on a number of complex factors. The extent of bon y a d soft tissue resection has significant impact. Patients with lat er l discontinuity defects of the mandible have lit tle hope of achieving pre-surgical levels of masticatory efficiency, howe ver certain measures can be sought off to minimize the post surgical deviation.
