The present investigation was developed with the purpose of determining the impact of the inadequate use of solid waste in the environmental contamination of the district of Julcan, Peru. We worked with a sample of 70 homes; Likewise, two reliable and duly validated questionnaires were used to collect data on the variables under study and the information was processed through statistical software for social sciences (SPSS V23). It is concluded that the inadequate use of solid waste impacts on environmental contamination according to the contingency coefficient of the Kendall Tau-b test statistic is -0.180, with a significance level of less than 5% of standard significance (P = 0.042). <0.05), we also observe that the Spearman's Rho statistic is -0.252, with a level of significance less than 5% of standard significance (P = 0.045 <0.05).
