The objectives of this research were to evaluate the effect of temperature and time of transesterification on performance and heating power of biodiesel from oil pinion, and the determination of the best conditions of temperature and time to obtain the highest performance and calorific value of biodiesel increased. The optimal level of process variables was determined using a central composite rotational design (CCRD), which allowed us to obtain the models that define the behavior of the response variables. The optimum conditions for maximum performance of biodiesel (85%) were obtained when working at a temperature of 65-75 o C and a time of 55-70 minutes. Also, it was evaluated the properties of biodiesel obtained under the optimum conditions with the technical specifications ASTM D6751 - 07, EN 14214 and NTP 321 003 2005.
