O trabalho teve como objetivo caracterizar as areas de conflito de uso da terra em APP na microbacia do Ribeirao do Veado, Piratininga/SP, num periodo de 39 anos, utilizando como base cartografica a carta planialtimetrica de Bauru (IBGE, 1973), em escala 1: 50.000, as fotografias aereas verticais pancromaticas de 1972 e a imagem de satelite Landsat – 5 de 2011, bem como o Sistema de Informacoes Geograficas (SIG) - Idrisi Selva e o software CartaLinx. A area esta situada geograficamente entre as coordenadas 49o 06’ 33” a 49o 09’ 54” de longitude W Gr. E 22o 23’ 24” a 22o 26’ 07” de latitude S, apresentando uma area de 1831,27ha. Os resultados mostraram que as pastagens foram mais significativas ocupando 68,07%  em 1972 e 57,96% em 2011, confirmando a vocacao regional para a atividade pecuaria. Os conflitos de uso do solo de 1972 e 2011 apresentaram resultados que comprovam a acao antropica na paisagem natural, pois, mesmo observando o aumento da mata de 11,46% para 30,28%, nao estao sendo preservadas o suficiente, uma vez que a maior parte das areas destinadas as Areas de Preservacao Permanente (APP), de acordo com a Lei Federal no. 12.651/12, mesmo sabendo que estao em situacao irregular e que sao instrumento fundamental para o equilibrio ecologico e a manutencao .dos recursos hidricos. Portanto, o estudo de uma microbacia e importante para compreender seu funcionamento e a necessidade de sua preservacao, controle e utilizacao racional. CHARACTERISTICS OF LAND USE OF CONFLICT AREAS IN PPA IN THE STREAM VEADO, PIRATININGA (SP) FOR GEOTECHNOLOGIES MEDIA ABSTRACT: The study aimed to characterize the PPAQ land use conflicts areas in the Ribeirao Veado watershed, Piratininga/SP over a period of 39 years, using cartographic planialtimetric chart of Bauru in scale 1: 50000, panchromatic vertical aerial photographs from 1972 and satellite Landsat-5 of 2011 and the Geographic Information System (GIS) Idrisi Selva and CartaLinx softwares. The geographical area of 1831.27ha, is located between coordinates 49o 06' 33" to 49o 09' 54" W Gr and 22o 23' 02" to 22o 26' 07" S. The results showed that the pastures occupied 68.07% of the area in 1972 and 57.96% in 2011, confirming the regional vocation for livestock farming. The land use conflicts in 1972 and 2011 showed results that prove human activities on natural landscape, because even thought the natural vegetation increased from 11.46% to 30.28% in the same, they are not preserved enough, according to Federal Law No. 12.651/12. Therefore, this kind of study of a watershed is important to understand its operation and the need for its preservation, control and rational use.
