The article is based on the previously unknown documents from the Bulgarian, Russian, Czech and Ukrainian archives. It analyses the Ukrainian political émigré press of the interwar period in Romania, with the focus on the newspapers published in the camps for the interned Ukrainian soldiers in Brașov, Oradea Mare, Făgăraș. The main attention is paid to bulletins issued by the Extraordinary diplomatic mission of the UPR in Romania, the branch of the Ukrainian Society of the League of Nations in Bucharest, the Public Support Committee of Ukrainian Emigration in Romania and the Simon Petliura Committee in Bucharest. The article enlightens the measures taken by the central Ukrainian émigré organizations in Romania concerning the publication of Ukrainian newspapers in Bessarabia and Northern Bukovyna, as well as the establishment of their own publishing house and Ukrainian Telegraph Agency in the capital of Romania. The author pays particular attention to the ideologist of Ukrainian nationalism Dmytro Dontsov and his participation in the Batava magazine.
