This article examines modern trends in state grant support for youth in the Russian Federation. Examples of relevant practices in regions and municipalities are given. The results of the All-Russian competition of youth projects for the last four years are analyzed, including the activity of participation of youth and educational organizations in the regions of the Siberian Federal District. Particular attention is paid to the problem of conducting an expertise of youth projects. Ways of creating and implementing a system of grant support for socially significant youth projects in the Irkutsk region are considered. It means a set of necessary measures to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the projects implemented in different areas. The importance of combining the goals of grant support with the socio-economic goals of the region is emphasized. The procedure for introducing a system of grant support for youth in the Irkutsk region is proposed. Emphasis is placed on the need for comprehensive information support of the competition not only at its initial stage, but also after its completion.
