The catalytic performance of Nb doped Co-Al2O3 was investigated for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx in diesel engine exhaust using light gas oil as a reducing agent. Since, the hydrocarbon (HC) conversion over Co-Nb/Al2O3 was lower than that over Co-Al2O3 above 600°C, the excessive combustion of the reducing agent was depressed over Co-Nb/Al2O3. Then, the NOx conversion over Co-Nb/Al2O3 was higher than that over Co-Al2O3.
