Este trabalho tem por objetivo estimar o aporte de recursos necessários no caso de implantação de um mecanismo de Pagamentos por Serviços Ambientais (PSA) na região da floresta Amazônica brasileira. As estimativas foram calculadas para o Arco do Desmatamento e para a Amazônia Legal e tiveram como base um custo de oportunidade de R$ 123,00 por hectare. A definição do público alvo das compensações foi feita com base na área e na renda gerada pelos estabelecimentos rurais dessas duas áreas. This paper offers an appraisal of a mechanism of Payments for Environmental Services (PES) in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest. The estimates were performed for two regions: the Arc of Deforestation and the Legal Amazon. The estimates were based on a cost of opportunity of R$ 123.00 per hectare and the definition of the eligible public was based on the area and the income generated by the farms in these two areas
