In the production system of tomatoes, estiolation is the main cause of loss seedlings. Some inhibitors such as paclobutrazol (PBZ) have been used to reduce this problem.  The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of different doses of paclobutrazol with and without polymer association, with different degrees of permeability on the physiological quality of seeds. Seeds of two cultivars of tomato, Ozone and Paronset, were treated with four concentrations of paclobutrazol (0, 0.004, 0.008 and 0.016 g mL ia.10 seeds -1 ), combined with three fixatives (water, P1 and P2). After treatment were made the germination test, germination speed index and cold test, and after five months of seed storage analyzes were repeated. The increase in PBZ dose reduces germination percentage  and germination speed index. After storage, the product acts differently in the seeds germination. Synthetic polymers used in dosage are effective in fixation of  PBZ in the tegument of the seeds, but do not reduce the harmful effect of PBZ in the seed germination.
