This paper aims at presenting the recent rise in the use of algorithmic systems, the move by policy makers towards fighting potential harmful outcomes that may arise from the use of such tools, and the consequences of such policy proposals for antitrust. It is organized into five sections: the first introduces the topic; the second delves deeper into the expansion of algorithmic use in the data-drive economy; the third part presents the policy solutions usually put forward by the literature and by policy makers to fight harm; the fourth discusses the implications of such proposals for antitrust; finally, the fifth section concludes the paper.  RESUMO: O presente artigo visa apresentar o crescente uso de sistemas algoritmicos em nossa sociedade, o movimento que objetiva combater possiveis resultados prejudiciais advindos desse uso, e as consequencias de tais propostas para o antitruste. Para faze-lo, o texto e dividido em cinco etapas: a primeira introduz o assunto, a segunda aprofunda o movimento de expansao algoritmica na economia de dados, a terceira apresenta as propostas geralmente debatidas pela literatura e por atores para combater os resultados indesejados, a quarta discute as implicacoes de tais propostas para o antitruste, e a quinta conclui o artigo.
