若年者44名と地域在住の高齢者64名を対象にし物体の高さ及び時間に関する高齢者の認識能力と転倒の関連性について検討した。大きさ20 cmの立方体の距離とTimed Up and Go testTUGの時間の認識誤差予測値と実測値の差を測定した。結果として高齢者群特に高齢転倒群において若年群との間に有意差が認められた。「過去1年間での転倒の有無」を目的変数としたロジスティック回帰分析を行った結果TUGの実測値、TUG認識誤差と右手の認識誤差を抽出し転倒予測スケールを作成した。ROC曲線の評価から曲線下面積が0.801cut off値2点と判断したところ転倒に対する感度と特異度はそれぞれ75であった。認識誤差を用いて転倒を評価する方法の有効性が示唆された。
