足関節外側部へのアイシング時の前距腓靭帯踵腓靭帯上の皮膚温分布を調べクラッシュアイス0℃の冷水キュービックアイスという3種類のアイスパック内容物の冷却効果を比較した。各群10足に対しての10分間のアイシング後にサーモグラフィにて計測された前距腓靭帯上の皮膚温は21.3±3.9℃13.0±1.1℃21.0±4.4℃踵腓靭帯上の皮膚温は20.4±6.1℃13.9±1.7℃ 20.4±3.2℃であること0℃の冷水にて冷却領域がもっとも均一であるという結果を得た。足関節内反捻挫時において0℃の冷水をアイスパックの内容物とした場合に前距腓靭帯踵腓靭帯部をもっとも有効に冷却できると結論づけた。
