Pear and apples are is one of the most widespread fruit trees in the agricultural farms of our country and its fruit are very preferred in the domestic markets. Unfortunately pear rootstock do not have very favourable pedological and climatic conditions for a suitable development although pear and apples rootstock species provide some advantages in environmental stress situations (cold winter, drought, calcareous coil, tolerance to flooding or high water inputs). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of three different types of fertilizers (NPK, magnetic fertilizer and fly ash on the development of pear and apple seedlings).Â  The study was conducted in an experimental field, placed VA¢lcele, Cluj - Napoca, on a surface of 764 m 2 . A randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 3 replications and 9 variants with a plot size of 20 m 2 for variant in each replication was used. 10 saplings randomly chosen, from each fertilized variant, were analysed. For each pear and apple seedlings the trunk diameter were measured. Biometric data were statistically processed with STATISTICA v. 7.0 Office. The results of our experiment, show the importance of fertilization in apple and pear tree development expressed as trunk diameter.

The Influence of Organic and Mineral Fertilization upon two Orchard Tree Species in Nurseries
