Currently organizations need to adopt sustainable policies and practices, this has causing a greater search and use of sustainable models. For this it is necessary to know what are the main challenges for organizations in the application of these models of corporate sustainability. This article aims to determine which advantages in using the principles of sustainability in organizations, as well as detect the main difficulties when deploying a model of sustainability, verifying the existence of the principles described by Oliveira et. al. (2012) and other authors. As information sources it was used the bibliographic to understand the "state of the art" in relation to sustainability in organizations and as a source of data collect of articles published in the last eight years in national and international databases. It is evident in studies the importance that sustainability currently holds for organizations and among the advantages of using this method is the best sustainable financial performance, the stimulus to innovation, better management and the involvement of stakeholders in their processes, but two shortcomings are confirmed in the work: the need for an investigation of the maturity of the organization in using sustainable methodologies and if the human resources of the organization are prepared for this organizational change.
