De-oiled soya, a commercial-waste release, from the soya oil production industry, is transformed into activated carbon. Characterization study has been conducted on the activated carbon by X-ray analytical microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. Batch adsorption experiments have been executed to assess the efficacy of activated carbon in the removal of chromium from aqueous solution. The optimum conditions of adsorption process are determined by exhausting the regression equation. There is a conspicuous indication of strong association of chromium adsorption with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The pseudosecond-order adsorption kinetic model perfectly fits into the considered study.
