Tanulmányunkban a magyar lakosság életminőségét és a legnagyobb népegészségügyi jelentőségű megbetegedések lefolyását, kialakulásuk bio-pszicho-szociális okait vizsgáló követéses egészségfelmérés (Hungarostudy Egészség Panel) általános módszertanát mutatjuk be. Ismertetjük az egészségpanel népegészségügyi fontosságát, áttekintést adunk az egészségi állapottal kapcsolatos nemzetközi és hazai panelvizsgálatokról, bemutatjuk a kutatás vizsgálati elrendezését, a felmérés előkészítését és lebonyolítását, a súlyozási eljárás menetét, a kérdőívfejlesztés folyamatát és az újonnan alkalmazott tesztbattériát. Összesítve a követéses vizsgálat eredményét: a panelminta 91,5 százalékát (7321 fő) a felmérés és a pótfelmérés során megtaláltuk, közülük 4524-en vettek részt az újabb vizsgálatban. A panel két hulláma közt a becsült halálozási arány 4,3 százalék, a visszautasítási arány 23,7 százalék volt, valamivel magasabb, mint a Hungarostudy 2002-es felmérés idején. A súlyozási eljárással biztosítottuk a minta korra, nemre, régiókra vonatkozó reprezentativitását. A felmérés adataira épülő kutatási eredmények kiterjeszthetők a felnőtt magyar népességre, lehetőséget nyújtanak a betegségek prognózisának vizsgálatára, valamint az egészségi állapot és a társadalmi, gazdasági és pszicho-szociális háttértényezők közötti ok-okozati összefüggések feltárására.			 | 				The present study describes the general methodology of the Hungarian Epidemiological Panel (HEP). The HEP is a follow-up survey focused on the quality of life and the bio-psycho-social causes of the development and progress of diseases of public health importance in the Hungarian population. In this article we explain the significance of the HEP, give an overview of panel surveys in Hungary and in other countries, present the methodological design, preparations, and arrangements of the survey; we explicate the development of the questionnaire, the newly introduced test battery, and the weighing process. Summarizing the results of the follow-up survey, during the second wave survey and the additional search we found 91,5 percent of the panel sample (7321 persons), 4524 of them participated in the next wave of the survey. The estimated mortality rate was 4,3 percent between the two waves of the survey; the refusal rate was 23,7 percent, slightly higher than in the Hungarostudy 2002. The weighing process ensured that the sample was representative by age, gender, and region of settlement. Based on the survey data, research conclusions can be drawn regarding the whole Hungarian adult population. The results make it possible to analyze the prognosis of diseases, and to expose causal relationships between the health condition and social, economic, and psychological factors
