The modern lamps are nonlinear loads and introduce harmonic distortions in power supply lines. In conformity with standard requirements the emission measurements are done for a single lamp during the validation process. In real life more than one lamp is used at the same time in a system. Measurement of more modern lamps in a circuit shows that the harmonics emission in their case is lower than in the case of one lamp.
